With the launch of 16 new health clinics, Walmart Health has announced plans to provide communities in Florida with healthcare that is more convenient, accessible, and affordable.  By fall 2023, the locations—which will be spread across the metropolises of Tampa, Jacksonville, and Orland—will be open.

“As the population in Florida continues to grow at more than double the rate of the rest of the United States, so does the need to increase access to quality health care. With these 16 new Walmart Health centers across the state, even more Floridians will have easy access to a wide range of high-quality health services at convenient hours and easy to understand prices,” said the senior vice president of Omnichannel Care Offerings at Walmart, Dr. David Carmouche.

Members of the local community will be able to access a variety of healthcare services 7 days a week in one convenient location at the new cutting-edge facilities, situated next to Walmart Supercenters. This will allow them to receive the proper care at the appropriate time in their own backyard. Primary care, laboratories, X-rays, EKGs, behavioral health,  hearing, dental, some specialized treatments, and community health are among the services that may be offered - differing depending on the area.

The first six Walmart Health sites in Florida opened in 2022, and they have already been successful in facilitating easy access to high-quality care. With wait times that are roughly half what they are nationwide, these centers are helping Floridians save time. Approximately 50 percent of all appointments are for primary and chronic condition treatment, and more than 96% of patients said they "felt cared for" during their visit. By the time the new locations are up and running in the fall of 2023, there will be 22 centers operating throughout the Sunshine State.Â
